Think and Grow Rich

Think And Grow Rich in and of itself is not effective. It’s what you do with the knowledge that counts. It has sold millions of copies and made countless millionaires, but it dosen’t mean after you finish reading the book, you’ll get rich. If you completely absorb the main takeaways from the book, you will find it extremely useful.

For example,  the author, Napoleon Hill talks about having a major definite purpose and a burning desire for an achievement. If we take a step back and look at the natural way of success, you’ll see that it is mainly causes and effects, but if you have a particular book that millionaires recommend and love, don’t you think there would be something to it? “Think And Grow Rich” is a wonderful and considerate book, but it won’t change your life if you just read it once and put it away.

Once you step back and understand the big picture, the stuff is basically just common sense. It includes stuff what we really know but might never bring it to our useful skills. If you have a yearn desire to achieve a million-dollar net worth, the chances of you achieving that goal are higher than if you think.

Finally, the author talks about the importance of having faith to yourself, and how you must honestly believe that your goals are possible to achieve. Again, this makes sense at the most basic level. The main picture is to believe in yourself and don’t ever let anyone tell you what to do or take you down. If someone doesn’t believe hitting the million-dollar dream is possible, why should people even try?

I’ve found that people make life more complex than it needs to be. Because they think success philosophy is a complex hard topic, but the main outlined is to  “Think And Grow Rich” are just as effective as they’ve always been.  In conclusion, people should read this book because it shows and teaches us that achieving a dream is possible if you believe in it and think of it as less complex, fear will always be your biggest enemy.

Reflection of Animal Farm

I have learned a lot of things from a book called “Animal Farm”. The book Animal Farm is the allegory of the Russian Revolution in the 19-20 century. Animal Farm is consisted a lot of rhetoric. I also did a research of the pig or the human’s perspective towards the Battle of Cowshed, an incident that happened in the book. After I finished animal farm, I did some solid thinkings in my mind. It occurs to me that I used to have an attitude like Napoleon. When I was in middle school, I want to be the gang, the boss, the leader. I wanted to be the most powerful person in class where everyone obeys me and do everything I say. I want people to worship me like I’m their god or something like that. I remembered that I use a lot of language abuse because of that goal.  Overall, my question to myself was that “How important is language in the use or abuse of power?”. Well language is really important  to abuse power as if we emphasize a word.

When I was saying “ it is all because of gambling, match-fixing and bribery”. Language like rhetorical devices is used to abuse power like they do in presidential elections, or political events and all those kind of stuffs. Like when Napoleon had not been able to use language to his absolute advantage and ended up using Squealer as his messenger. But Squealer used plenty of rhetorical devices and ended up persuading the animals to his side. Overall, from this book, I learnt a lot of things about rhetoric and the type of language and mechanics the character’s  in animal farm use to persuade the animals to their side. I would want learn more about rhetorical devices as it will be really helpful in the future. Like when we are standing in an election, who knows? I could possibly become president one day….
